Conditions and general Information

Las Negras is a village in the natural park Cabo de Gata/Nijar, on the south eastern coastline of spain in Andalucia. It is a quiet village, where the Almerians spend their holidays. During the easter week in the summer months of july and august there is more life in the village.

The beach of Las Negras is sandy and stony and only a ten minutes walk from all our accomodation. Along the coast lovely sandy beaches are interspaced with cliffs and rocky coves, ideal for snorkeling.

In Las Negras you can spend a very relaxing holiday. The village is situated between partly rough, partly light hills and mountains. To the east lies the wide arc of the mediterranian sea with wonderfull views of the sunrise.
To really enjoy the wonderfull countryside one should rent a car. For exploring the nearer attractions we recommend hiking boots.

Several restaurants offer local and international dishes, and a number of bars are open during the whole year. Other little restaurants and bars can be found in almost every village.

The supermarket in the village covers the everyday essentials.

15 km further inland is the comparatively new town of Campohermoso where you can find banks, post office, supermarkets and a street market every thursday.

The old town of Nijar offers ceramics and tradicional handwoven carpets. Granada and the mountains of the sierra Nevada is only 2-3 hours away by car.

Streetmarkets:  Tuesday: Almeria estadio mediterráneo
Wednesday: Nijar
Thursday: Campohermoso, Carboneras
